The Delhi government-run Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital which was till now offering only OPD services for the specialty branches has planned to grow its services by adding surgery facilities to the existing departments.

The residents of west Delhi will be benefited once these operation theatres (OTs) are functional. Previously, any surgical cases were referred to other hospitals. This new facility will also reduce the patient load on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH) which conducts surgeries.

Currently, Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital only offers outpatient care (OPD) services in cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, and nephrology, as well as supportive services in radiology, integrated testing and counseling (F-ICTC for HIV testing), integrated rehabilitation (speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy), cardiology, gastroenterology, and neurology. The machines for the OTs have already been ordered and all of the work will be finished by August. OTs will be functional from September. (ETHealthWorld, July 19, 2022)
